Christmas

Different Families have different traditions. One large way to show this is how they celebrate the Holiday Season. For my family we celebrate Christmas. That sacred Christmas morning my sister and I walk up at the crack of dawn and go into our parent’s room to wake them up. When my sister, Holly and I were younger my dad would hurry down stairs to quickly find the video camera. Finally he would shout “Ready!” Holly and I would walk slowly down the stairs while my dad films our excited smiles when we see the high stack of presents around the tree. Before our presents we go to the stockings over the fireplace. Usually something such as toothbrushes or candy fills them. After, we open our presents from Santa and our parents. Last our parents open the presents they got for each other and from us. The first Christmas my mom and dad where dating, my dad got my mom a box of chocolate. Each chocolate had a little sugar decoration on them, some had poinsettias or holly, and others had wreaths. Every year since my dad has gotten my mom the same box. He has had to find a few different distributers, but they always have that delicious dark chocolate I have come to look forward to every year. After we clean up my parents make salad, turkey and either potatoes or stuffing for my mom’s side of the family. My mom’s three sisters, brother and their families come. Once they arrive I show off my new toys to my cousins, Kyle and Evan the closest to my age. I have a ton of fun the entire day and it’s a great way to celebrate!
