New Years

This year, 2010, isn’t only a new year but also a new decade meaning a great way to start over on a fresh sheet. The old is behind us and a new day approaches. For me 2009 was an eventful year. Changing from a middle school pupil to a high school student is the final stage to become a teenager. This past year was also the start of one of my skating teams and the start (for me) of my youth group at my church. With all the new things popping up around me, in 2010 I will hopefully be able to relax and enjoy them. To start off the new year I think it isn’t important how it began but with whom. This is why I watched the ball drop with my two best friends Rachel and Nicole and my sister Holly. After the stroke of midnight we ran outside in the middle of their street to sing on the top of our lungs the hits of 2009. We danced in the icy road slipping and sliding all over. The songs included everything from Tik Tok by Kei$ha, to You Belong with Me by Taylor Swift. Luckily only a few of their neighbors were outside to hear us, because it probably wasn’t the best sound. In fact it resembled a bit like a dying animal but we didn’t care. Soon enough we were too cold to feel our fingers and were forced inside. It was a great way to begin the new year and I’ll defiantly remember it.
