A list of ten things I am thankful for
1) My mom. I am thankful for my mom because she is always encouraging me in whatever I pursue whether it’s a new team for skating, a youth group event, or anything else. She is always there for me. Even if I fall right on my face doing so, she is there to catch me.
2) My dad. I am thankful for my dad because he is always arguing with me. This might not seem like a good thing but it is. It reminds me I’m not going to be right all the time (and when I’m with him I’m usually not.) It also reminds me to stand up for what I believe in, even if no one else does.
3) My sister, Holly. I am thankful for Holly because she provides the entertainment for my life. She’ll say and do the weirdest things sometimes, and it always makes me laugh. Holly is also my therapist; whenever I have a problem I can always talk to her and let my feelings out. Even though, I know usually she isn’t paying attention, it’s good to get my feelings out.
4) My friends. I know everyone has friends, but I am especially thankful because mine are so great. Like my best friend Nicole who I can talk about anything with, anything from school, facebook, people, news, and anything else going on. Rachel and Erin are like my crazy younger step sisters (although not evil.) Lauren, Alyssa, Stephanie, Abbie, Natalie, and Lauren Mac. are my best friends who I can always count on. I am even grateful for friends like Kelly, who give me so many smiles during that brighten my day! Speaking of friends I am also thankful for my friends moms, like Mrs. Burgess, Mrs. Collins, and Mrs. Seguin who drive me everywhere from school in the afternoon and morning, and skating.
5) Food! Especially on thanksgiving when I love to eat so much, we should be thankful for food. Not everyone can afford the large quantities sometimes needed to fill stomachs. I am also thankful that in my family we have such good cooks!
6) Skating. I am very appreciative for skating. I know my parents put down a lot of money for this expensive sport (lessons, competitions, dresses, and music all cost money.) I am also thankful for my new skates which are really cool! I am even thankful for my coaches who are wonderful!
7) My house. I am thankful for my house because it’s warm, and cozy. It is a house that makes you feel good the minute you step inside of it. It’s never exactly clean, but never too messy either. Perfectly in the middle.
8) Youth group. I am thankful for everyone at youth group who makes are activities so much fun. This includes everyone on the adult team, everyone who planned fall retreat, like Laura and Katie, and everyone on the leadership team who plans the events, and the meetings.
9) My dog Buster, and cat, Jackie O. I am thankful for my dog Buster because like now, he is always by my side, and I always ready to cuddle up to me on a bad day. I’m also grateful for Jackie O (yes, like the first lady) who gives me great entertainment, like when she will run outside late at night, and wake up my dad at four in the morning when she is on the roof scratching at his window. We don’t know how she gets on the roof, or why she goes outside, but somehow she manages.
10) My distant family. I am thankful for my distant family, like my aunts, uncles, grandparents, and cousins. I am grateful I know my grandparents, for many kids don’t get a chance to meet them. I am also thankful for such loving aunts, uncles and cousins, especially my cousins Kyle and Evan, because not only are they my cousins but my friends, and without them most family gatherings would be boring.
